December 2013 Special Events

Hi everyone! Make sure to join us for these December special events!

On Thursday, December 19th, we will be celebrating everyone with a December birthday. Come and have lunch and birthday cake with us!

Friday, December 20th is our Holiday Luncheon. We will be serving Rib Roast, and for dessert we will be having Strawberry Cheesecake.

Monday, December 30th is our Ice Cream Social. We will be having lasagne for lunch, and then we will all make our own sundaes at the dessert bar!

Holiday Closures

Just a reminder...

The Camden Community Center will be closed (and no lunches will be served) on December 24th and 25th in observance of Christmas. We will also be closed on New Year's Eve (December 31st) and New Year's Day (January 1st).

The Sunday Sevens Accordion Band to Perform at Camden

BIG NEWS FOLKS!! The Sunday Sevens Accordion Band will be performing at our Camden Luncheon on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. If you loved our Banjo Band event in June, don't miss this performance! This will be a popular event, so make your reservations as soon as possible!

November 2013 Ice Cream

Join us on Thursday, November 21 for our cheeseburger luncheon and ice cream social! After lunch, you will have an opportunity to make your own delicious ice cream sundae at our ice cream buffet table! If you like fun food, make your reservations now!

November 2013 Birthday Party

Do you have a birthday in the month of November? Then come and join us on Thursday, November 14th for lunch and birthday cake! All are welcome, and birthday babies get a goody bag to take home!

Veteran's Day Luncheon

Bring your photos from your days in the military, and share them with your friends at Camden! We'll be singing patriotic songs and having a special lunch menu of stuffed pork chops. Make your reservations now!

2013 Halloween Party at Camden

Come join us on Thursday, October 31, 2013 for our Halloween Party. In addition to our regular lunch, we will have a special dessert bar with plenty of Halloween goodies! Folks who dress up will get to participate in our costume contest, too! Please make your reservations for this event 48 hours in advance.

October 2013 Ice Cream Social

Hi everyone! I want to invite you all to our ice cream social on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Melissa will be at this event, and this will be a great opportunity to see her and say goodbye before she leaves to take her new position as Gerontology Specialist at the Berryessa Community Center. Please make your reservations as soon as possible.

Celebrating Our October Birthday Babies!

Do you or a friend have an October birthday? Then come join us on Thursday, October 17, 2013 as we celebrate all our October birthday babies! We will all have cake, and the birthday celebrants will each receive a goody bag and eat lunch "on the house."

Fitness Week!

Hi everybody! September 23rd through 27th is Fitness Week! Here at Camden we will be having a Feldenkrais demonstration on Tuesday, Sept. 24th, and Tai Chi demonstrations on Wednesday, Sept. 25th, and Thursday, Sept. 26th. The demonstrations will begin right after lunch in the MPR. Stay and learn more about these great ways of improving your health and staying fit!

September Ice Cream Social

You are invited to Camden's September Ice Cream Social & Luncheon on Monday, September 23rd at noon. Lunch will include chicken & rice, tossed salad, California vegetables, and watermelon. After lunch, make your own sundae with your choice of scrumptious toppings!

August 2013 Bingo Days at Camden!

We have an extra bingo day this August!  Join us for bingo after lunch on Thurs., August 8, Mon., August 12, and Wed., August 28.  Prizes include free lunch coupons and sweet treats!

July Ice Cream Social

On Wednesday, July 24th, we will be having our monthly ice cream social!  Come for lunch (we will be having BBQ pulled pork, or you can order a sandwich or salad instead), and then stay to make your own scrumptious sundae treat!  Make your reservations now.

Tap Dance Performance

On Thursday, July 25th, the Dancing Divas will be back to tap dance for us at Camden!  These ladies always give a fantastic performance, so be sure and make your reservations for this special luncheon.

Celebrate America on July 3rd at Camden!

Reserve now for our July 3rd Independence Day luncheon!  Since the community center will be closed on July 4th, we are celebrating a day early with music and great food.  Our menu on July 3rd will include BBQ Pork Ribs, Baked Beans, Steamed Cabbage, Mixed Green Salad, Corn Bread, and Fresh Melon.

Peninsula Banjo Band to Perform at Camden!

On Thursday, June 27th, we will have a special lunchtime performance by the Peninsula Banjo Band.  Come and have a great roast turkey lunch at Camden, and enjoy the music of one of the Bay Area's most loved bands!  Call 408-371-2888 and make your reservations now!

June Ice Cream Social at Camden!

On Monday, June 17th, we will be having cheeseburgers for lunch, and an ice cream social.  If you enjoy fun food, this is a great day to join us at the Camden Senior Nutrition Program!  Make your reservations now!

Father's Day Luncheon

On Friday, June 14th, we will have a special Father's Day luncheon.  Our menu will include barbeque pork ribs, baked beans, cornbread, coleslaw, garden salad, and fresh melon.  Come and celebrate our awesome dads and granddads!

Mother's Day Lunch

We will be having a special Mother's Day menu on Friday, May 10th.  Please join us for Spinach-Stuffed Chicken Breast, Wild Rice Pilaf, Summer Yellow Squash, Romaine-Iceberg Salad, Whole Wheat Dinner Roll, and Seasonal Berries.

Cinco de Mayo!

Since Cinco de Mayo falls on a Sunday this year, we will be celebrating it on Friday, May 3rd.  We will be serving beef enchiladas, spanish rice, refried beans, and a dessert of baked flan.  After lunch, join us for bingo ("Bingo de Mayo!"), where winners will receive free meal coupons and chocolate bars!

Upcoming Events

April birthday babies (and everyone else!) are invited to our April birthday party on Thursday, April 18th.  Friday, April 19th we will be having a special Spring meal, complete with glazed ham.  Then on May 23rd we will be having a performance by the Happy Birds parrot troupe.  Sign up for these events now!

Bingo Days in April

Hi there, bingo players!  We will be having bingo after lunch on Monday, April 15th, and Wednesday, April 25th. 

Spring Special Events

Hi everybody!  Here's some information about upcoming spring events at the Kirk Cafe:

On Thursday, February 21st, we will be having our February Birthday Party.  Remember to let us know if you are a February baby!  Birthday babies attend the birthday party for free, and they receive a goody bag.

Wednesday, February 27th and Wednesday, March 6th will be Bingo days. 

On March 8th, back by popular demand, The Dancing Divas will be giving us a lunchtime tap dance show (they are fantastic!).

Friday, March 15th is our St. Patrick's Day celebration (complete with corned beef!).

Wednesday, March 20th will be our March Birthday Party, and Thursday, March 28th will be our Spring Holiday Party.
